sarawak...

okay, sorry la if darn long post. so, here goes, although names of the places you might have never ever heard of.

for those of you who didnt know, i just came back from sarawak. =D went with my family and we were a group of 15 people including our beloved guides and porters. xD

- 6th; left for miri. from miri, took a 19 seater plane to lawas. stayed the night there.

-7th; from lawas, took 4 wheel drive through muddy timber tracks to Buduk Nur in Ba' Kelalan. (about say, 180 km?) yeah. bumpy ride. loads of slush pools too. xD after that day, bum pain adi.
*Ba' Kelalan is 7 villages along the Kelalan river. Buduk Nur is the last village.

-8th, 9th; stayed in Apple Lodge, Buduk Nur for 3 nights. they served chicken wings for every meal. -_- while we were there, we went visiting places around the village.

-10th; departed from there on our hike to Bario. in my opinion, worst day of it all. started out around 8ish. the jungle trek only started after lunch. before that we were walking on timber tracks. jungle. omg. leech infested to the maaax. good part was, good weather. =D but still. soo many leechess. eeeesh. tak suka. so, we walked and walked and walked. up and down hills. across rivers and streams. through jungle but with breaks here and there. by 3+ i was half dead. and we still walking. finally reached a jungle hut where we were supposed to spend the night at 7 something. aaaahhhhh. walk until leech also dont care di. (oh, just so you know, in east malaysia, its bright by 6am and gets dark by 6.30 pm) and it started raining later on. so yes. we were walking in the DARK with torches, and the rain la. undescribably happy to see the jungle hut, Long Repung, where we were to spend the night. and despite how deadly tired I was, could barely sleep. -_-
*walked 11 hours. x.x

-11th; next day, had maggie for breakfast! xD started off around 8.30am again. same thing as the day before, only it rained after lunch. so heavyyyy. and like the night before, we were walking so very fast through the jungle just wanting to get out of it. thankfully, this time it was a shorter trek. ohoh, and we had to cross a marsh. stepping on logs we couldnt see. o.o reached Pa' Lungan (another village) at 4 or 5ish. finally. stayed at a really nice homestay place. loved it. =D

-12th; spent the day at Pa' Lungan recovering from the past 2 days punya trek/hike. had a cultural show that night.
*the shortest way to access this village is by walking from Bario. the most non-tourisy place during the whole trip.

-13th; set out from there at 9.20am, heading for Bario. we were hoping another 4wd would come and pick us up along the way at around lunch. no such luck, walked another 2 hours or so from a village to Bario. the path was a lot better. more open, less leeches. after lunch, we were walking on timber tracks again. aaaand finally reached the next place we were staying at. not too bad la.

-14th; left for the airport. spent the whole morning there. goodness knows why. xD flew back to miri (at 1pm) and reached kl at midnight.

note:
i really really tabik our guides/porters. they did the same trek, with OUR luggage. one person carrying as much as 20+ kilos. and,
- one's musically talented,
- one is a great chef,
- they dont get you lost in the jungle, even at night,
- they can hunt,
- 3 of them had to walk all the way back to Ba Kelalan. (porters)
only thing is, they all smoke. -.-

people there are all really really really
-nice, wonderful, friendly, kind, caring, always smiling. =)

had no reception from the 7th-13th. sorry for those who were trying to get me.

we walked about 40km from Ba' Kelalan to Bario. and we crossed the border into indon and back again.

i think thats about it. =)
